Dangling there, golden and fair in the sky : Fleet Foxes

The Fleet Foxes remind me of driving around New Paltz listening to the the first Crosby Stills and Nash album on tape until it it spittled on itself. I almost spittled on myself shooting them this past Saturday at the Capitol Hill Block Party, they were so good.

Set your DVR to CBS at 11:30 on August 4th. They’re playing Letterman!

Hospital Portraits of Baby Keane

I had the privilege of photographing little baby Keane in the hospital just hours after being born. What a treat!! He was so tiny and sleepy and soft. We have a family shoot scheduled for the beginning of August with his sister Nora, who is on the front page of photojj.com laughing up a storm. Good picture taking is in his genes!

Engagement Portraits : Liz & Tom

Liz & Tom are engageed but not for long… they’re getting married tomorrow! The session was a bit last minute since they live on the east coast and are only in Seattle for a short while. We shot in Discovery Park and Liz’s mom Peggy drove us around so we could hit the best spots during the golden hours without having to get sweaty trekking around on foot (thanks Peggy!). Have you seen how huge that place is? There are some great images of them with sailboats and sunshine that haven’t been worked up yet (we did these in a rush to pump out before the wedding) so I suspect there will be a engagement session 2.0 post in the future.

Golden Gardens Bathhouse Wedding : Alex & Shana

I met Alex about eight years ago while shooting a show in town. He is as sweet as they come. Known for his B&W rock photography, I found myself bumping into him often, exchanging smiles while crossing house right to house left at the Showbox, the Croc, or more recently down in Portland for the last Sleater-Kinney show. I got so excited when he told me he was engaged and just about speechless when they chose me to photograph the wedding. Shana is a straight shooting, down to earth, Jet City Rollergirl with red hair. She and Alex initially bonded over their shared love of music, and soon she was the recipient of Alex’s music library via mix cd’s and loaned albums. Once you start sharing your music collection and making mixes, co-habitation is not far behind! They were married this past May at the Golden Gardens Bathhouse.
