WHAT TO WEAR/How to prep

General advice is to avoid wearing all white unless it's layered with something else, and large and busy patterns can be distracting if you'd rather the focus be on your face. That said, a great pattern can also add personality, and I LOVE PERSONALITY. Despite those suggestions, I ultimately want you to wear something you feel fantastic in and FEELS LIKE YOU, so if you only wear white, then wear white. Bring a handful of clothing and accessory options to play around with. If you're going for a head and shoulders image, make sure your neckline is high enough so that it's obvious you're wearing clothes (or don't - you do you!). Please iron/steam & de-lint prior to arrival. I have a clothing rack in the studio for hanging your items on. Don't forget to clean the lenses of your glasses and leave your transition or light-adaptive lenses at home, or at least bring some backup frames. Check-in with your nose and eyebrow hairs that morning to see if they need a trim.

TIMING

Most sessions are completed within 60-90 minutes. Directly after we take your portrait, we'll review the images together and narrow them down to your favorite 3. Choices are made on-site, so if you tend to be indecisive and there is someone whose opinion you require or admire, please bring them with you.

BACKDROP OPTIONS

The standard backdrop is white. Please let me know in advance if you need something specific. I keep a few other background colors in stock and may be able to order a custom color for you if needed.

RETOUCHING

I offer basic retouching photoshop, softening some areas of skin, and removing stress breakouts that aren't an everyday part of your look. For optimum skin, I recommend exfoliating every other day the week before your appointment, but not the day-of. A face scrub will shed the dead cells from your face, remove blackheads around your nose and help tame oily shine. If you require more advanced retouching beyond what is provided, rates begin at $25 per image.

HAIR & MAKEUP

Take it a step further and add-on a 15-minute hair/skin/ make-up revival for $100. My hair & makeup artists will even out ruddy complexions, fix those early morning bags under the eyes, and bring out your best features while making sure you still look like yourself. Sure, retouching can help, but it's best to have a great base to begin with for the most natural results. Please let me know if you'd like to add hair & makeup when you schedule your appointment so I can confirm availability. You'll want to arrive with your hair as you would normally style and your typical daily makeup application. Full applications (approximately 45-60 minutes) are available for longer portrait sessions.

PAYMENT

Accepted forms of payment are by check made out to Jenny Jimenez or via the mobile app Venmo to @photojj. Credit card payments are subject to a 4% transaction fee. Payment is due at the end of your session. Washington state residents are subject to sales tax. Can't decide on just 3? You are welcome to add additional images to your final gallery for a cost of $50 each. Payment for hair & makeup will be due directly to the makeup artist.
