I was recently hired to photograph promotional portraits of bands Big Scary and Say Hi for Barsuk Records. I’ll share some of those in a few but in the interim here are shots of their recent show at the Sunset Tavern. Eric from Say Hi has been doing double duty this tour – headlining the show but also playing bass with Big Scary .

First, a heads up that I’ll be out of the office until March 5th, super excited to be teaching at the Photo Field Trip conference in Santa Barbara this weekend.
In the meantime, here’s a little scene I witnessed while visiting the Piazza Duomo in Lecce, a beautiful city in the Puglia region of southern Italy. I immediately thought of the 1956 movie, Le Ballon Rouge (The Red Balloon), one of my favorites as a child. This story ends a little differently. So sad to see the balloon fly off without the little guy.
