Leslie & Larry are not only lovebirds, they’re bandmates. They make up half of Seattle band the Redwood Plan. I’ve been following Leslie since the earrrrly days of Ms. Led, so when she asked for an engagement session, I threw a little sign of the horns their way over the interwebs. Rock on.
Nicole & Greg are already married, but before we can get to those photos, I have to share the engagement session we did shortly before their wedding. Based in Toykyo (Greg by way of Ireland, Nicole by way of Snohomish), I had only met them previously via Skype. By the end of our time together we were sharing funny family stories, cramming into tiny elevators and smiling so wide my cheeks hurt.
We started off at the I-5 underpass on 65th and Ravenna, where I’ve been itching to shoot ever since Sheila Klein’s hand painted graphics appeared (another example of how art begets art). We ended up at the Arctic Club, their wedding reception venue, exploring the hotel’s many cool little details.
Joann & Kris have known each other since 4th grade. Yes, 4th grade! They grew up together in Olympia, so when they suggested doing thier engagement portraits down there, Robin and I said hell yes and jumped in the car. Can’t wait for their wedding next year.
